Rahmad Darmawan Advises National Team Players in Europe

Rahmad Darmawan shares his perspective on the future of Indonesian national team players pursuing careers in Europe — they should consider playing time as the primary factor.

“If they have the opportunity to play in Europe and become regular starters, they should stay in Europe,” states Darmawan.

“But if they’re just sitting on the bench in Europe, it’s better to play here (in Liga 1),” he adds.

The 58-year-old coach emphasizes that playing minutes are crucial — this significantly impacts player performance development.

“Why? Because playing time greatly influences an athlete’s performance towards much better development, even if they consider the competition level ordinary,” he explains.
