Rafael Leão Fires Back at Cassano’s Criticism with Humor: “She loves me so much” and a crying emoji

AC Milan star Rafael Leão has once again found himself in the crosshairs of former Italian international Antonio Cassano—this time firing back with a touch of humor.

Cassano, known for his outspoken personality and bold opinions, recently criticized Leão during an interview, questioning the Portuguese winger’s motivation and mentality on the pitch.

“He plays more to impress women than to win matches,” Cassano said in a remark that quickly went viral across social media platforms.

In response, Leão took to social media to deliver a witty comeback. Quoting a viral post that included Cassano’s statement, the 25-year-old replied:

She loves me so much 😂,” followed by a crying-laugh emoji, sparking widespread reactions from fans.

This isn’t the first time Cassano has taken aim at Leão. Back in 2023, he accused the former Lille star of lacking a winning mentality—a comment that drew sharp criticism from Milan supporters at the time.

Leão, who has also publicly clashed with coach Massimiliano Allegri in recent months, has never shied away from defending his performances or legacy at San Siro.

In the 2024/25 season, Leão recorded 12 goals and 13 assists, although AC Milan’s eighth-place finish meant the club missed out on European competition.

Despite the team’s struggles, Leão remains one of Milan’s most valuable assets, known for his explosive pace, creativity, and growing leadership on the field.

As social media continues to amplify football’s off-pitch drama, it’s clear that Rafael Leão knows how to keep the banter going—with both flair and a smile.
