Rachel Daly receives MBE in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list

Rachel Daly — England women’s football star and Euro 2022 winner — has been awarded an MBE in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list.

During her eight-year international career, the 33-year-old player accumulated 84 caps and scored 16 goals — achievements that demonstrate her dedication to the national team.

Daly’s remarkable versatility allowed her to excel in multiple positions — from left-back to striker in various crucial matches including the 2023 World Cup.

“I have never worked with a player so versatile, always with a smile on her face, bringing energy and trying to do her best for the team,” said England coach Sarina Wiegman.

Currently, Daly plays for Aston Villa in the Women’s Super League after spending six years with Houston Dash. She joins her Lionesses teammates who have also received similar honors:

  • Lucy Bronze (MBE)
  • Ellen White (MBE)
  • Beth Mead (MBE)
  • Leah Williamson (OBE)
  • Mary Earps (MBE)
  • Lauren Hemp (MBE)
  • Millie Bright (OBE)
