Quartararo surprises everyone with German MotoGP sprint race podium

Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha recorded a surprising result in the 2025 German MotoGP sprint race — the French rider managed to finish third at the Sachsenring Circuit.

This positive outcome came unexpectedly considering the 3.67-kilometer track characteristics that were deemed less suitable for the Yamaha YZR-M1 motorcycle.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect to finish qualifying in seventh position. But in the end, this is a great result, with a great feeling in the sprint session, much better than FP2 and qualifying,” Quartararo told Crash.net.

The 2021 MotoGP world champion performed impressively from the race start — beginning from seventh position, El Diablo was able to capitalize on good riding sensations to surge forward and secure a podium finish.

“I’m really happy to step onto the podium. We knew the first lap was great for us, I had a good feeling,” added Quartararo.
