Quartararo suffers shoulder dislocation during Italian MotoGP practice, returns to track

Fabio Quartararo — Monster Energy Yamaha rider — demonstrated mental toughness during the 2025 Italian MotoGP practice session at Mugello Circuit after an incident.

The 2021 world champion suffered a partial dislocation in his left shoulder — an injury that occurred while sliding through the gravel at turn 4. A marshal immediately provided first aid by applying pressure to his shoulder before the French rider attempted to return to his damaged motorcycle.

According to Jack Appleyard from Crash, Quartararo immediately received examination from MotoGP medical chief Dr. Angel Charte in the paddock — however, the 26-year-old rider decided to return to the track less than 15 minutes after the incident.

Though not fully recovered, Quartararo managed to reach sixth position mid-session — even refusing ice compression offered by his team before continuing the session with strong determination.
