Quartararo hopes to bounce back at Italian MotoGP after Aragon struggles

Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha anticipates performance improvement at the ninth round of the 2025 Italian MotoGP at Mugello Circuit — following difficulties in Aragon.

The French rider had to accept a bitter reality in Aragon qualifying — dropping to ninth starting position after previously securing three consecutive pole positions.

“We almost got pole position on the other side,” Quartararo joked after struggling to 18th position during practice sessions.

Aragon Circuit indeed poses significant challenges for the Yamaha YZR-M1 — low-grip asphalt and long straights leave the bike trailing up to 10 kilometers per hour behind the fastest competitors.

Although Mugello also features a long straight, its flowing fast corners and better asphalt grip — are expected to compensate for Yamaha’s weaknesses.
