Quartararo crashes in Dutch MotoGP sprint race after starting from pole

Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha faced a disappointing incident in the 2025 Dutch MotoGP sprint race — the French rider crashed at turn 10 despite starting from pole position.

Technical issues were the main cause of Quartararo’s failure — the use of a worn soft compound front tire due to allocation mistakes during Friday practice sessions limited his bike’s performance.

“We made a mistake on Friday and had to start with a used front tire. I felt fine on the bike, but pushing to the extreme in all laps led to our crash,” Quartararo told Crash.

The 26-year-old rider acknowledged that Yamaha still lags behind competitors in race situations.

“In the race, when they can use all their power and grip, we can’t really make our own racing lines. We always have to think about the riders behind,” added Quartararo.
