The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) has officially announced that Pyo Seung-ju is now a free agent after not signing a new contract for the upcoming season.

The 32-year-old previously played for Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks, joining the team as a compensation player following Lee So-young’s transfer to Hwaseong IBK Altos.

Under V-League regulations, any player who does not sign a new contract while being a free agent will not be eligible to compete in the 2025-2026 season.

On her personal Instagram account, Pyo Seung-ju wrote:

“Hello, my name is Pyo Seung-ju. After thinking many times about how to say this, I decided to post this message.”

The post hints that Pyo Seung-ju may be considering retirement from professional volleyball.
