Putri KW Taklukkan Sindhu di Sudirman Cup 2025

Putri Kusuma Wardani pulled off a stunning victory over Pusarla Venkata Sindhu in the Sudirman Cup 2025 match held at Fenghuang Gymnasium, Xiamen, China.

The world No. 11 women’s singles player secured a convincing 21-12, 21-13 win — helping Indonesia level the score against India in the group stage.

Right from the start, Putri KW dominated the game by capitalizing on a string of errors from the 2016 and 2020 Olympic medalist. Trailing 1-2 early on, the Indonesian shuttler turned things around and surged ahead to 9-2 in the opening game.

Sindhu — who only returned to the court earlier this year after nearly two years out due to injury and marriage — tried to close the gap after the interval. She managed to narrow the margin to 11-14, but her safe play and long rallies weren’t enough to stop Putri KW’s momentum.
