PT LIB increases foreign player quota for next Liga 1 season

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has announced significant changes in foreign player regulations for Liga 1 2025-2026 season — each club is now permitted to register 11 foreign players.

This decision was made during the General Shareholders Meeting (RUPS) in Jakarta — increasing the quota from the previous limit that only allowed 8 foreign players per club.

President Director of PT LIB, Ferry Paulus stated that the new regulation is a result of agreement among all teams to improve competitiveness at Asian level.

“Previously we saw 8 players registered with 6 playing. Clubs felt this was somewhat inadequate,” stated Ferry Paulus.
