PSSI is expanding its search for diaspora players to Germany — with young, talented midfielder Laurin Ulrich being one of the targets.

The 20-year-old, who currently plays for VfB Stuttgart II in Bundesliga 3 — has Indonesian heritage through his paternal grandfather, who was born in Surabaya.

Ulrich, who was born in Heidenheim an der Brenz — has shown his potential by collecting 20 caps with German national teams from U-16 to U-19 levels.

The attacking midfielder, developed by the VfB Stuttgart academy — becomes one of the young talents on PSSI‘s radar to strengthen the Indonesian national team.

As PSSI intensifies efforts to scout international talents with Indonesian roots—the potential inclusion of Ulrich aligns with the federation’s broader goal of improving competitiveness on the global stage.

If eligible and willing to switch allegiance—he could add depth and quality to Indonesia’s midfield options for future tournaments.
