PSSI Clarifies Elkan Baggott’s Absence from Squad

PSSI Executive Committee member Arya Sinulingga has issued an official statement regarding Patrick Kluivert’s decision not to include Elkan Baggott in the Indonesia national football team, as reported by Bolasport.com.

The Bangkok-born defender last represented the Garuda squad in a match against the Philippines during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, roughly one and a half years ago.

His absence is believed to be related to a conflict with former coach Shin Tae-yong. Reports suggest that Baggott declined a call-up to the Indonesia U-23 team for the Olympic Play-off match against Guinea last year.

“We understand the current discussions on social media regarding Elkan Baggott,” said Arya Sinulingga to the media.
