PSSI chairman directly contacts two U-23 strikers facing criticism

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir took special measures by contacting two Indonesia U-23 national team strikers — Hokky Caraka and Jens Raven who are facing pressure at the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The two young players are going through difficult times — Hokky received harsh criticism including harassment related to his personal life, while Jens is under scrutiny for not scoring against Philippines and Malaysia.

Erick Thohir asked permission from coach Gerald Vanenburg to speak directly with both players via phone — an effort to restore their spirit and maximum performance on the field.

“I have already discussed that when we faced Malaysia and Philippines, the playing system was already formed,” said Erick Thohir.
