PSIS Semarang Officially Sacks Gilbert Agius

Agung Buwono, President Director of PT Mahesa Jenar Semarang, announced the dismissal of Gilbert Agius as PSIS Semarang head coach on Tuesday (April 29).

The decision to sack the Maltese coach followed a string of poor results that left PSIS Semarang stuck in the relegation zone of the 2024–2025 Liga 1 season.

Nicknamed Mahesa Jenar, the team currently sits in 17th place with 25 points — four points adrift of Barito Putera, who occupy the last safe spot.

“Today we have decided to relieve coach Gilbert from his duties due to unsatisfactory results. We thank coach Gilbert for his dedication so far,” said Agung Buwono.
