PSG Dominates Inter Miami 4-0 in Club World Cup Round of 16

Paris Saint-Germain demonstrated their European champion status by defeating Inter Miami 4-0 in the Club World Cup round of 16 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium — showcasing dominant play under manager Luis Enrique’s leadership.

It took PSG just five minutes to open the scoring through João Neves who capitalized on Vitinha’s free kick. The French side continued their dominance with a total of 19 shots, nine of which were on target.

Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates struggled to match the quality of the Champions League winners — with the scoreboard already showing 4-0 for PSG at halftime.

“Injuries have exposed our depth. Obviously, we know about the restrictions MLS imposes that don’t allow us to compete at the economic level we would like,” stated Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano.

Despite the heavy defeat, Inter Miami marked their achievement as the only MLS team to reach the knockout stage of this tournament — a proud accomplishment for a club in just their sixth season.

“With Messi’s arrival, it’s opened many doors for everyone, and obviously, many more people are looking up to the young Miami players,” commented Jordi Alba after the match.
