PP PBSI withdraws three doubles pairs from Japan Open and China Open 2025

The Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI) has announced the withdrawal of three doubles pairs from Japan Open 2025 and China Open 2025 — tournaments scheduled for mid-July.

The withdrawn pairs are Apriyani Rahayu/Febi Setianingrum, Rachel Allessya Rose/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari in women’s doubles, and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil in mixed doubles.

“The withdrawal of these three pairs is due to performance evaluations from previous tournaments that were considered suboptimal at level 500 and above,” stated PP PBSI’s Performance Development Head, Eng Hian.

The newly formed pair of Apriyani/Febi has shown positive development by reaching the Malaysia Masters 2025 semifinals. They even managed to defeat world number six Chinese pair Li Yi Jing/Luo Xu Mun, before being stopped by top seeds Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning in the semifinals.

Moving forward, these three pairs will focus on level 300 tournaments to boost their confidence and performance.
