Porsche 963 Receives Significant Weight Reduction Ahead of WEC Imola Race

Ahead of the Imola 6 Hours scheduled for April 20 — Porsche has received the largest weight adjustment in the Hypercar Balance of Performance (BoP).

Porsche 963 LMDh will run at 1053kg — 11kg lighter than at the season opener in Qatar about two months ago. This adjustment comes after both Porsche Penske Motorsport cars only finished 10th and 11th in Qatar.

Several other manufacturers also received BoP adjustments:

  • Alpine A424 LMDh gets a 2kg reduction
  • Peugeot 9X8 loses 1kg
  • Cadillac V-Series.R gains 11kg with additional 9.4bhp
  • Ferrari 499P increases by 8kg after dominating Qatar podium
  • Toyota GR010 HYBRID remains at 1065kg but loses 4bhp
  • BMW M Hybrid V8 gains 5kg with additional 10.7bhp
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie increases by 9kg

Practice sessions for the Imola 6 Hours will begin on Friday, April 18. This race marks the second round of the 2025 WEC championship.
