Wolfgang Pikal Discusses Indonesia’s Chances for 2026 World Cup

Wolfgang Pikal, former assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, has shared his perspective on Indonesia’s prospects in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Continues to Watch Garuda’s Progress from Papua

The Austrian coach, who worked alongside Alfred Riedl during two tenures (2010–2011 and 2014–2016), is now the Academy Director at Papua Football Academy. Despite his current role, Pikal continues to follow the development of the national team closely.

“I always have a strong connection with Indonesia. I’m proud to have contributed to the national team and I still believe this country has enormous football potential,” said Pikal.

Indonesia is set to face two critical matches in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers – Asian Zone:
