Pietro Bagnaia reveals early career story of MotoGP world champion

Pietro Bagnaia, father of MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia, shared his son’s career journey in an interview with BENZINE Cosimo Curatola.

“He was always responsible. Even as a child, he never misbehaved and always respected adults,” revealed Pietro.

Though generally quiet with his father and more open with his mother, Francesco had shown strong interest in motorcycle racing since age three. Pietro initially opposed his son’s desire.

“I disagreed. At first, I refused. However, he persisted, and his mother, seeing his strong determination, asked me to let him try,” said Pietro.

The turning point came when Francesco was four years old — at the Cuneo track, the small boy displayed surprising natural talent during his first time riding a mini motorcycle.

“I was very surprised. Though very small, he had amazing control. He showed no fear and seemed to have natural talent,” recalled Pietro.
