Piastri Has Chance to Make History at Canadian GP

Former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle highlights McLaren driver Oscar Piastri‘s dominance — who now leads the standings with a 10-point advantage over his teammate.

Piastri has collected five victories from nine races this season, while Lando Norris and Max Verstappen have only secured two wins each. Brundle emphasizes that Piastri’s calm demeanor is the main differentiator from his rivals.

“Piastri has proven himself as the man to beat and has the best chance to claim the world championship title,” Brundle stated during Sky Sports F1 broadcast.

Heading into the Canadian GP, Piastri has the opportunity to set a record as the first Australian driver to achieve more than five wins in a single season.

“Those statistics are interesting, but I’m more interested in joining Sir Jack Brabham and Alan Jones as world champions. Five wins in nine races exceeds my expectations, but the main focus remains on securing more victories and the championship,” Piastri told media in Montreal.

The McLaren driver expressed comfort with Montreal circuit characteristics and remains optimistic about performing well in the upcoming Canadian GP.
