Phil Hanson Claims Le Mans 24 Hours Victory with Ferrari

Phil Hanson has reached the pinnacle of his career by winning Le Mans 24 Hours with AF Corse Ferrari team. The 25-year-old driver shared the Ferrari 499P cockpit with Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye.

Hanson’s path to success began with an unconventional decision — choosing endurance racing over junior formula. This choice proved correct when he became LMP3 champion in Asian Le Mans Series just a year after his debut.

“This was the best mistake I ever made,” Hanson stated about his decision to start his career in endurance racing.

Hanson’s achievements include:

  • European Le Mans Series title
  • World Endurance Championship victory
  • Le Mans class win in 2020
  • Various successes in junior prototype categories

Currently, Hanson and his teammates are 16 points behind the 2025 WEC standings leaders. His focus is now split between celebrating the Le Mans victory and fighting for the world championship with Ferrari.

“The short-term priority is enjoying this win and focusing on the championship,” explained the driver who is now seeking a long-term contract with a major manufacturer.
