Peter de Roo officially becomes new Persis Solo coach replacing Ong Kim Swee

Peter de Roo has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Persis Solo — replacing Ong Kim Swee who saved the team from relegation threat in Liga 1 this season.

The announcement was made by the club yesterday, with the Dutch coach bringing coaching experience from various countries — including Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

“After working in various football environments like Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore, I see differences and similarities when comparing them to football in Indonesia,” stated De Roo.

“In Indonesia, the spirit is extraordinary, but the system is still developing. There is great potential, but consistency may be needed in youth development and coach education,” he added.

The new coach will lead a squad that has undergone several changes — including the departure of Ramadhan Sananta from the team.
