Peter de Roo discusses Dutch coaches’ dominance in Super League

According to Bolasport.com, Peter de Roo — the new Persis Solo coach — shared his perspective on the Dutch coaches phenomenon in the 2025-2026 Super League season.

Three Super League clubs have appointed tacticians from the Netherlands — Johnny Jansen strengthening Bali United, Jean Paul van Gastel handling PSIM Yogyakarta, and Peter de Roo himself leading Persis Solo.

“I don’t want to exaggerate this matter. A good coach is not determined by their country of origin,” stated De Roo.

De Roo cited the success of Vietnam national team under South Korean coach — Kim Sang-sik managed to lead Vietnam to win the 2024 AFF Cup.
