Ahead of the crucial 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifier, Malaysia head coach Peter Cklamovski has shared his thoughts on the upcoming match against Vietnam, scheduled to take place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on June 10.

Under a qualification system where only group winners automatically advance to the final round in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia faces a tough challenge from a resurgent Vietnam led by head coach Kim Sang-sik.

“I know the next game against Vietnam will be very tough,” said Cklamovski, as quoted by The Thao.

Vietnam is currently the strongest team in Southeast Asia. We are planning friendly matches carefully to prepare for them,” the Australian coach added.

The clash between Malaysia and Vietnam is shaping up to be a potential decider in the race for a spot in the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.
