Persita Tangerang appoints Carlos Pena as new head coach

According to Persita Tangerang’s official announcement, Carlos Pena has been appointed as the team’s head coach for the Liga 1 2025/2026 competition.

The 41-year-old Spanish coach — who previously managed Persija Jakarta last season — will begin his duties with Pendekar Cisadane in the near future.

Speculation about Pena’s arrival at Persita had been circulating since the end of Liga 1 2024/2025 last month. His appointment is part of the club’s preparation for the upcoming competitive season.

Despite having experience in Indonesian football with Persija, Pena’s tenure at the capital city club was short-lived — management decided to terminate the collaboration early due to unsatisfactory results.
