Persis Solo signs Northern Irish defensive midfielder

Persis Solo has announced the signing of their seventh foreign player for Liga 1 2025-2026 — defensive midfielder Fuad Sule from Northern Ireland.

Though born in Nigeria, Sule holds a Northern Irish passport and spent most of his career in the British Isles — most recently playing for Glentoran FC in Northern Ireland’s top division.

“I decided to come to Indonesia primarily because I wanted to explore football with a different style, immerse myself in various lifestyles, and understand a new culture,” stated the 28-year-old midfielder.

Sule’s move to Persis Solo marks his first adventure outside the British Isles, joining the team known as Laskar Sambernyawa.
