Persis Solo Ends Cooperation with Malaysian Savior Coach

Persis Solo has officially announced the end of their cooperation with coach Ong Kim Swee — the figure who successfully saved the team from relegation threat.

The 54-year-old coach joined Laskar Sambernyawa in November 2024 — when the team was in a critical situation in the relegation zone. He replaced Muhammad Hanafing who previously served as caretaker.

Ong Kim Swee’s arrival was an emergency measure following the dismissal of Milomir Seslija in September 2024. At that time, Persis Solo was struggling in 16th position in Liga 1 with only 7 points from 11 matches.

The former Malaysian national team coach managed to meet management expectations — moving the team away from the danger zone during his 23 matches with Persis Solo in the 2024/2025 season.
