Persis Solo appoints Peter de Roo as head coach

Indonesian Liga 1 club Persis Solo announced the appointment of Peter de Roo as their new head coach on Friday evening. The Dutch coach — who just completed his tenure at Singapore’s Balestier Khalsa — officially joins Laskar Sambernyawa.

“Officially becoming part of Sambernyawa, Welcome Peter de Roo,” stated the club’s official announcement.

The 55-year-old De Roo underwent a series of interviews with the club owner — focusing primarily on his extensive experience in Asian and Australian football.

The Dutch coach has a long track record in the Asia-Pacific region — ranging from Technical Director positions at Dutch SC Cambuur, Football Queensland Australia, Australian Football Federation, and similar role in Malaysia before finally managing Balestier Khalsa for the last three seasons.
