Persik Kediri signs Portuguese midfielder for Liga 1 2025/2026

Persik Kediri has announced the signing of Portuguese midfielder Telmo Castanheira for the Liga 1 2025/2026 competition, as reported by Liga Indonesia Baru.

The 33-year-old player — who will fill the position vacated by Ze Valente’s move to PSIM Yogyakarta — was introduced as the club’s newest recruit this Friday.

Team manager Muhammad Syahid Nur Ichsan confirmed that Castanheira is the right choice for the team.

“Telmo is one of the players that Persik Kediri needs for the upcoming Liga 1 season. We have seen his impressive performances at his previous club,” said Ichsan.

The Portuguese midfielder has a previous working relationship with coach Ong Kim Swee when they were both at Sabah FC — a club competing in the Malaysian Super League.
