Persijap Jepara appoints Portuguese coach Mario Lemos for Liga 1

Liga 1 promoted club Persijap Jepara has announced the appointment of Mario Licino Guerreiro Lemos as head coach for the 2025/2026 season, as reported by Bolasport.com.

The 39-year-old Portuguese coach has an interesting track record — having served as assistant coach at Mumbai City FC competing in the Indian Super League.

Lemos also recorded achievements while handling Abahani Limited Dhaka — successfully leading the Bangladesh club to compete in the domestic league and AFC Cup.

His international experience expanded when appointed as interim coach of the Bangladesh national team — leading the team in the Four Nations tournament in Sri Lanka and recording a victory over Maldives.
