Persija Jakarta targets consecutive Liga 1 titles

Mohamad Prapanca, Director of Persija Jakarta, has expressed the Macan Kemayoran team’s ambition to secure consecutive Liga 1 titles — an achievement they haven’t accomplished since their last championship.

Persija last lifted the Liga 1 trophy in 2018, while two other clubs — Bali United and Persib Bandung — have managed to record consecutive championships in Indonesia’s top football competition.

“When it comes to becoming champions, it’s certainly not easy. We also want to achieve back-to-back titles in Liga 1,” stated Prapanca.

The Macan Kemayoran director acknowledged errors in the player recruitment process — one being excessive management interference in selecting players to join the team.
