Persija Jakarta ready for classic derby against Persebaya at GBK

Carlos Pena menerapkan formasi false nine saat Persija Jakarta bermain imbang 1-1 melawan Persebaya Surabaya di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno.

Coach Carlos Pena acknowledges that Persija Jakarta currently sits far from the top of the standings — yet maintains the target of finishing in the top four of Liga 1 this season.

“Right now we are very far from first position. And this season’s target is to be in the top four,” stated Pena.

The Macan Kemayoran are now focusing attention on the classic derby — hosting Persebaya Surabaya at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, this Saturday.

“We have been talking about this throughout the season, but now what we need to do is win again. That’s what we must do. And we have a good opportunity against Persebaya at home with our fans again on Saturday,” added the Spanish coach.
