Persija Jakarta cancels new stadium construction plans

Mohamad Prapanca, Persija Jakarta’s Director, confirms the cancellation of plans to build a new stadium — this decision follows the team’s secured access to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Sunter.

Previously, the club known as Macan Kemayoran faced obstacles in using Jakarta’s stadiums — both JIS and Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), forcing them to play in nearby cities like Bekasi and Bogor.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to this situation by granting Persija access to JIS for several years ahead — a decision warmly welcomed by club management as a long-term solution.
