Persib Bandung Targets Argentine Midfielder From Malaysian Super League

Guaycochea Nears End of Contract With Perak

Argentine attacking midfielder Luciano Guaycochea is reportedly on Persib Bandung’s radar, according to Malaysian journalist Avineshwaran Tahamalengam. The 33-year-old currently plays for Perak in the Malaysian Super League but is set to conclude his contract at the end of May, marking the end of his three-year stint in Malaysia.

In a farewell message, Guaycochea expressed his gratitude:

“My time at the club has come to an end. I am grateful for these beautiful three years, where the relationship with you, the fans, has been the most important and extraordinary thing. From the first match to the last, I have given everything, without a doubt.”

Persib’s Midfield Strategy After Ciro Alves’ Departure

The interest in Guaycochea follows the recent departure of Ciro Alves, which created a gap in Persib’s midfield lineup. Management is now looking to strengthen the squad ahead of the new Liga 1 season. With Guaycochea’s playmaking experience and vision, he is seen as a potential asset for the Bandung-based team.

A Tactical Fit for Bojan Hodak’s System?

Coach Bojan Hodak may view Guaycochea as a natural fit in his tactical setup, offering creativity and attacking depth. The final decision, however, will depend on negotiations and whether Guaycochea is ready for a new chapter in Indonesian football.
