Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak shared a surprising and lighthearted revelation during an interview with Persib TV — saying he could’ve taken a very different path in life.

“If I wasn’t a football coach, maybe I’d be a gangster or a soldier,” said Hodak, smiling.

The Croatian tactician has proven his expertise — after joining Persib mid-season 2023/2024, he successfully led the team to win the Liga 1 title.

Hodak began his coaching journey with Malaysian club UPB-MyTeam from 2006 to 2009 — his first major achievement was leading the team to promotion to the Malaysia Super League.

The 53-year-old coach has now recorded various impressive achievements as a professional tactician — far removed from the alternative career paths he humorously mentioned.

Hodak’s success with Persib not only revived the club’s title ambitions but also solidified his standing as one of the most respected managers in Southeast Asian football.
