Persib Bandung Could Become Indonesia’s JDT Under Bojan Hodak’s Guidance

Back-to-Back Titles Mark a New Era for Persib

Bojan Hodak has etched his name into Persib Bandung’s history books by winning two consecutive Liga 1 titles, sparking comparisons to his reign of dominance with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in Malaysia.

Legacy of Success with JDT

The Croatian tactician is widely credited for laying the foundation of JDT’s football dynasty. In 2014, he led the club to its first Malaysia Super League title, launching a golden era that has seen the club lift 11 straight domestic league trophies.

A Coaching Journey Across Southeast Asia

Following his departure from JDT in mid-2015, Hodak continued to shape Southeast Asian football. He coached Malaysia’s U-19 national team, took charge of PSM Makassar, and steered Kuala Lumpur City to notable performances.

The Persib Turnaround Story

In July 2023, Persib Bandung, hovering near the relegation zone, made a bold move by appointing Hodak to replace Luis Milla. The decision proved transformative: within a year, Persib emerged as Liga 1 champions twice, underlining Hodak’s influence and establishing the club as a potential powerhouse akin to Indonesia’s version of JDT.
