Persib Bandung falls in President’s Cup opener against Port FC

Persib Bandung began their 2025 President’s Cup journey with a disappointing result — losing to Port FC in their Group B opener at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, on Sunday afternoon.

Coach Bojan Hodak immediately gave opportunities to several new recruits as starters. Five new players trusted to fill the starting XI:

• Saddil Ramdani
• Luciano Guaycochea
• Wiliam Marcilio
• Uilliam Barros

For Port FC, coach Alexandre Gama decided not to field Asnawi Mangkualam from the start — choosing Suphanan Bureerat to fill the right-back position.

Both teams appeared to be searching for their rhythm in the first competitive match after the competition break. Persib had to make an early substitution when Achmad Jufiriyanto collided with a Port FC player in the ninth minute.
