Persebaya Surabaya missed a valuable opportunity to climb to the runner-up position in Liga 1 after settling for a 1-1 draw against Persija Jakarta at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.

This stalemate meant Bajul Ijo failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity — the top two teams in the standings, Persib Bandung and Dewa United, had both previously dropped points in Week 28.

A victory could have taken Persebaya past Dewa United into second place and reduced the gap to league leaders Persib Bandung to seven points — however, the draw left Liga 1 standings largely unchanged.

Two Liga 1 matches were held today — Persis Solo faced Malut United in the afternoon fixture, while the clash between Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya took place in the evening.
