PB IKASI holds meeting to prepare for National Championship and Indonesia Open 2025

The Indonesian Fencing Association (PB IKASI) held a Members Meeting with 28 Provincial Boards at Hotel Grandhika Iskandarsyah, South Jakarta.

Agus Suparmanto — Chairman of PB IKASI — highlighted the current state of national fencing that has not yet reached its expected achievements.

“Frankly speaking, fencing’s glory is still not meeting expectations. That’s why we gather Provincial Boards from across Indonesia annually for input. PB IKASI itself doesn’t own athletes, as the provinces own and train them. So, the spearhead lies in the regions,” stated Agus.

The meeting discussed two main agenda items:

• National Championship to be held in Aceh in late September 2025
• Indonesia Open 2025 which will feature both domestic and international athletes

PB IKASI commits to providing full support — both facilities and coaching — including plans to send athletes for training programs abroad.
