Paul Pogba joins AS Monaco after 2-year absence from football

Paul Pogba has officially joined AS Monaco as a free agent after his contract with Juventus ended last November. The 32-year-old French midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Champions League-qualified club.

Pogba’s arrival marks a significant reinforcement for Monaco, who finished third in French League last season. The midfielder will return to competition after nearly two-year absence due to injury and doping-related suspension.

Paul Pogba chose Monaco despite receiving offers from Saudi Arabian League and Major League Soccer clubs. This decision was made with hopes of returning to the French national team for the 2026 World Cup — a major challenge considering his physical condition needs proving after the long absence.

“Juventus wasn’t there when I was suffering,” stated Pogba regarding his move to the new club.
