Paul Munster differs from other foreign coaches in Indonesia

Paul Munster — the Northern Irish coach currently managing Bhayangkara FC — demonstrates a different dedication compared to other foreign coaches in Indonesia.

Unlike many foreign coaches who rely on translators, Munster chooses to learn Indonesian for better communication with his local players.

In contrast to Munster’s attitude, some foreign coaches are reluctant to learn the local language — Shin Tae-yong has been accompanied by translator Jeong Seok-seo for five years while handling the Indonesian national team.

Thomas Doll, who managed Persija Jakarta for two years, took a similar stance.

“I’m lazy and don’t have time to learn Indonesian,” Doll said while still coaching in the capital city.
