Patrick Kluivert, head coach of Indonesia’s national team, remains optimistic about the Garuda Squad’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, targeting a runner-up finish in the group.

In the current Group C standings of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers, Indonesia sits fourth with six points, tied with Bahrain and China:

  • Japan — 19 points

  • Australia — 10 points

  • Saudi Arabia — 9 points

  • Indonesia — 6 points

  • Bahrain — 6 points

  • China — 6 points

Ahead of the crucial home match against Bahrain at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Kluivert emphasized unity and a winning mindset:

“Everything is possible in football. We will chase victories. All remaining matches are targeted for wins,” said Kluivert.
“Luck is important, but we must work together. With the right mindset, we can achieve good results.”

Indonesia faces a tough task but remains in contention for a qualifying spot with several games left in the campaign.
