Patrick Kluivert Monitors U-23 National Team at ASEAN Cup

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir revealed that Indonesia national team coach Patrick Kluivert’s presence at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium has a specific purpose — monitoring the potential of U-23 players.

The Dutch coach has witnessed two Indonesia U-23 national team matches at ASEAN Cup 2025 — the victory against Philippines and the recent draw against Malaysia.

In the latest match, the Young Garuda squad played to a goalless draw against Malaysia which secured their path to the tournament semifinals. Kluivert, accompanied by his assistant Alex Pastoor, gave full attention from the SUGBK stands.

“Patrick Kluivert and Alex Pastoor’s presence is not just about providing support from the stands,” stated Erick Thohir.
