PatMen Explains Paper Rex’s Crushing Defeat to Gen.G

Paper Rex’s new Valorant recruit, Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza, has explained the reason behind his team’s heavy defeat against Gen.G earlier yesterday (June 10th) during the second match day of the Swiss Stage at Masters Toronto 2025.

The match was expected to be a fiery clash of the titans. But the intense battle that fans were looking for only happened in the first map (a 11-13 loss for PRX on Ascent), while the second map was a complete disappointment (a 3-13 loss for PRX on Icebox).

This result shocked Masters Toronto viewers as mostly did not expect the Singaporean powerhouse to perform so poorly on a map they practice often. Speaking via Tyler is Online channel, PatMen revealed they were underprepared for Gen.G, leading to their decisive loss.

“Actually, we’re not expecting Gen.G. We’re expecting Sentinels or maybe BiliBili Gaming (BLG). Since I don’t have any experience fighting Gen.G, they just told me the habit of the players. I think we were on that, but we were having crap start, you know, and suddenly we got snowballed by them.”

The Filipino fragger also mentioned some minor technical issues during the match but stressed there is no excuse for losing.

The next round will be a do-or-die for PRX as they meet Team Liquid earlier tomorrow to secure last spot in the Masters Toronto playoffs. While PRX might seem stronger on paper, PatMen and the boys should not take Liquid lightly, and take any strategy into consideration.
