Pastoor Scouting Liga 1, Safrudin Tahar Stands Out

Indonesia national team head coach Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat made a direct scouting visit to the 2024/2025 Liga 1 match between Malut United and Borneo FC — a key step in the search for new talent for the national squad.

Two Malut United players, Yakob Sayuri and Yance Sayuri, remain on the coaching radar — but the staff is also looking for fresh prospects to strengthen the national team.

Malut United coach, Imran Nahumarury, shared a unique moment during the visit:

“When we last played Borneo, Alex Pastoor actually pointed at Safrudin Tahar and asked, ‘Is that guy a foreign player or local?'” said Nahumarury.

Safrudin Tahar successfully caught the attention of the national coach — despite a brief misunderstanding where Pastoor initially thought he was a foreign player.
