Paper Rex Reportedly Taps Mindfreak as Substitute for EWC 2025

Recent rumors suggest Paper Rex is going to reinstate veteran sentinel Aaron “mindfreak” Leonheart in their starting lineup for the upcoming EWC 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

This follows news that said their star player, Wang “Jinggg” Jie, recently missed practice sessions due to a hand injury sustained at Masters Toronto 2025, then reportedly worsened after the tournament.

The Singaporean player initially took a short break to recover, but his current condition might prevent a quick return. And recent scrim data shows PRX has been practicing lineups featuring mindfreak.

This presents a great opportunity for mindfreak to showcase his skills again after spending recent time as an assistant coach. Given his history with the team, it should be easy for him to adapt to the W Gaming’s current playstyle.

PRX begins their EWC 2025 campaign in Group A on July 8th against Chinese esports giants BiliBili Gaming. They are also expected to face tough challenges from G2 Esports and Karmine Corp in the group stage.
