Paper Rex’s d4v41 Voices Frustration Over Facing Boom Esports

Paper Rex’s sentinel Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee recently expressed frustration over facing Boom Esports in the playoffs of VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1.

Despite the performance gap between the two teams during the group stage, many VCT Pacific viewers initially favored Boom Esports to defeat PRX and advance further. However, the difference in mentality between them became starkly apparent in high-pressure moments.

Though PRX faced early challenges, they convincingly defeated The Hungry Beast with a 2-0 scoreline. While their performance earned praise from VCT Pacific audiences, d4v41 admitted the match was highly frustrating and acknowledged Boom’s tactical prowess, particularly their ability to dictate the game’s tempo.

“It’s annoying to play against them. They play so slow. They just holding the map control. We push this side, they’re just going to take the rope and go back, especially for Fracture and stuff. So for me in general, I just don’t like playing slow team,” said the Malaysian player.

Boom’s methodical playstyle is inherently frustrating for fast-paced, aggressive teams like PRX. After all, the Singaporean squad has been known for utilizing a strategy that prioritises high-risk aggression over objective control against any opponent— the W Gaming.
