Paper Rex Advances to the Grand Final of Asian Champions League 2025

Southeast Asia’s Valorant giants, Paper Rex, have secured their spot as the first finalist in the HERO Esports Asian Champions League 2025 after dominating Xi Lai Gaming in the seeding phase yesterday (15/5).

This match marked an exciting moment for PRX fans and the Valorant community, as it saw the return of their iconic lineup featuring Aaron “mindfreak” Leonheart. The Indonesian controller’s absence had previously left the squad struggling during VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1.

The series delivered intense, back-and-forth action, with both teams showcasing aggressive plays and tactical rotations. In Game 1 on Icebox, PRX faced early challenges but clawed back with precise utility usage and coordinated team movements. A series of critical late-game kills sealed their 15-13 victory.

PRX ramped up the pressure in the decisive game on Lotus, executing flawlessly timed attacks and crippling utility combinations that dismantled XLG’s defenses. The aggressive synergy between mindfreak and Wang “Jinggg” Jie consistently disrupted XLG’s formations, ending the map 13-8.

With this victory, PRX advances to the grand finals and now awaits the outcome of XLG vs. DRX to determine their opponent. Given their current form, PRX stands as the clear favorite to make history in this inaugural China-hosted tournament.
