Paolo Pavesio reveals why Yamaha recruited WSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu

Paolo Pavesio — who has served as Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director since the beginning of this year — provided insights into the rider recruitment strategy at Misano Circuit.

Yamaha MotoGP top officials — including Technical Director Max Bartolini and Team Principal Massimo Meregalli — are present at the circuit to watch this weekend’s WSBK championship.

“We recruited a Superbike rider now because we had the opportunity to get the right rider,” stated Pavesio to Speedweek.

The man who has dedicated 23 years to Yamaha emphasized the importance of inter-division collaboration — including his experience in motocross and WSBK.

“I want to build stronger networks because we can always learn from each other,” added Pavesio, who previously spent a decade at Yamaha Italia.
