Padel’s popularity in Indonesia predicted to have lasting impact

According to Arma Adi, Founder of PadelPedia Community, padel sport which combines tennis and squash will maintain long-term popularity in Indonesia. The development of this Mexican-origin sport has spread from Jakarta to other major cities — including Bandung and Surabaya.

Currently, both cities have been selected to host the “Indonesia Open Circuit 2025” competition organized by the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI) — a tournament that began in May.

“I believe it will be very long-lasting,” stated Arma in a statement given a few days ago. “This sport has actually been around for a while, and it will likely remain popular even though it’s just recently gone viral in Indonesia.”
